Clinical Pharmacology and Drug Development Strategy

MetrumRG enthusiastically announces a new consulting service focus:  Clinical Pharmacology and Drug Development Strategy.

The addition of Shashank Rohatagi, PhD, MBA, adds decades of drug development experience to our team and strengthens our capabilities in clinical pharmacology and drug development strategy.

Services include:

• Drug development strategy consulting
• Interpretation, review, and analysis of clinical and non-clinical pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and ADME data
• Creation of quantitative clinical pharmacology development plans
• Guidance on clinical pharmacology-related questions in all phases of drug development
• Development of quantitative strategies to support decision-making
• Preparation and contribution to regulatory reports and documents (e.g. IND, NDA, BLA, PIP, CTD)
• Expert representation and support for regulatory interactions.

New and familiar faces, connections made, and great conversations - all highlights from our experience at the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics annual meeting held in Washington, DC in March.

In case you missed it, here are a couple of things to check out:

• Jonathan French and Marc Gastonguay presented "The future of modeling and simulation as the engine for strategic decision-making in pharma development, economics, and therapeutics", an interactive discussion exploring a vision for the future of modeling and simulation as the engine for decision-making in pharma development, economics, and therapeutics. The course materials can be viewed on our website.
• Marc Gastonguay, Ph.D., presented "Model Innovations That Will be Disruptive" during the MID3 session on Saturday, 16 Mar 2019.
• Ahmed Elmokadem, Ph.D. presented a poster: "Development of an Open-source Physiologically-based Pharmacokinetic Model to Predict Maternal-fetal Exposures of CYP450-metabolized Drugs".

MetrumRG scientists traveled to Stockholm, Sweden to join the Population Approach Group in Europe for their 2019 annual meeting in June.

Matthew Riggs, Ph.D., presented "M-EASE-1: A Modelling and simulation study conducted to further characterize the efficacy of low-dose Empagliflozin as Adjunctive to inSulin thErapy (M-EASE) in Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus". Abstract III-02.

Bill Gillespie, Ph.D., presented "Torsten: Stan functions for pharmacometric applications. New functionality including within chain parallel computation" in the afternoon. Abstract IV-29.

Curtis Johnston, Pharm.D., presented "M-EASE-2: A Modelling and simulation study conducted to further characterize the efficacy of low-dose Empagliflozin as Adjunctive to inSulin thErapy (M-EASE) in Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus". Abstract IV-66.

Friday, June 14

Bill Gillespie, Ph.D., capped off the event with an afternoon workshop "Getting Started with Bayesian PKPD Modeling Using Stan/Torsten: Practical use of Stan and R for PKPD applications".
