Meet Jill Tschida, Client Relationship Coordinator at MetrumRG. Jill plays a key role in helping projects get off to the right start. Her work touches nearly every Quantitative Science proposal that comes through the door, and her behind-the-scenes efforts ensure a smooth experience for both clients and internal teams.
We caught up with Jill to learn more about her background, passions, and what she values most—both at MetrumRG and in life.
Tell us about your role at MetrumRG.
As a Client Relationship Coordinator, I facilitate the beginning steps and activities needed to collaborate with our clients, such as scheduling teleconferences and executing confidentiality and service agreements. I also act as a liaison between MetrumRG scientists and clients during the proposal process.
What do you like most about working at MetrumRG?
The best part about working at MetrumRG is working with fantastic, kind, and caring individuals who are enthusiastic about what they do to improve the lives of others. This translates to a supportive environment regardless of your role within the company. I also appreciate learning about the various interests and hobbies of my MetrumRG colleagues who are a unique and diverse group.
Which of MetrumRG's core values is the most important to you and why?
The core value that stands out most to me is Excellence—we value expertise, quality, and integrity in what we do. I also appreciate that MetrumRG has a clearly defined Vision, Mission, and set of Guiding Principles.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I try to incorporate activities that support my passions and curiosity. Two of my lifelong interests are traveling and hosting exchange students. My family first hosted a student from Mexico during my senior year of high school, which sparked my curiosity to explore the world. I studied abroad in Madrid during college, and since then, I’ve hosted two students from Spain and currently a student from Chile. It’s an amazing experience that has helped me see my own community and country through new eyes.
If you watch TV, what was the last show you binge-watched?
I don’t usually watch TV, but I’ll sit down with one of my teens if they’re watching something. The last two series we watched were Ted Lasso and How I Met Your Mother.
What is currently #1 on your bucket list?
I hope to live in Spain—preferably Madrid or Sevilla—for a few months each year. I’d also love to spend winters somewhere warm like North or South Carolina, Georgia, or Tennessee, and summers in Connecticut, Illinois, or Minnesota. One of the exchange students I hosted lives in Madrid with her family, and we stay in touch. I consider her one of my own.
What is your favorite quote?
I have a few favorites:
“The only constant in life is change.”
“This too, shall pass.”
And of course, “Be a goldfish.” (Yes, that’s a Ted Lasso quote!)
If working out is a priority for you, what is your workout of choice?
I enjoy lifting weights and resistance training. with a focus on building strength to support everyday activities and long-term health.
If you could have dinner with anyone (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
I would love to have dinner with my mom, who passed away 13 years ago at the age of 66. So much has happened in my life since then—both good and bad—and I’d love to be able to talk with her about it all.
What others say about Jill
“Jill is a joy to be around. No matter how hectic things get she is always upbeat and has a great sense of humor—or at least she humors me. Jill also understands that work doesn't always fit nicely into that 9-5 package and will get a proposal out the door in the evening hours if necessary. But her best quality is that she always asks why. She seeks to understand the bigger picture and understand how her efforts fit into the larger plan. That inquisitiveness helps her bring her A-game on all she does and to constantly be thinking “how can we do this better?”
